Jaime of The BackPorch Boutique began sewing soon after my first Grateful Dead Show in 1994. She says, "I wanted a hippie dress more than anything, and asked for one for christmas. Instead of a dress, my mom bought me a pattern and some Fabric, and thus began my infatuation with sewing.

Since 2002, Recycle Bin Designs has offered high quality products with a goal being “walking lightly on the earth.” Owner, and designer, Tifany Hoffman believes that we should be actively conscious of our own individual impact we are choosing to leave in our wake.

This week's Featured Handmade Artist is Intergalatic Rose. Like many handmade artists, Intergalactic Rose is small family business, that got it's start when Kate, had a beautiful baby girl in 2002. An experienced patchwork designer, Kate decided to shift her focus from making enough money to get from show to show, to making enough money to support her daughter.
