You can buy the soap-making ingredients in a craft store:
-Meltable blocks of soap
-Tints or perfumes
Use what you've got or look in a cooking store for:
-Cookie cutter shapes to express your own particular style
Go outside and collect the following:
-Dried leaves or flowers, seashells
Raid your kids toy box for:
plastic jewels or toys to decorate
To make: cut the soap slabs into 1-by-1 inch cubes, place in a glass measuring cup or dish and melt them in a microwave. Follow the manufacturer’s direction for how long to cook the soap you buy.
Mix the soap tints or perfumes into the melted mixture. Then pour into a foil pan or foil-lined pie pan to get the desired thickness.
If you like, press any added decorations into the top of soap, deep enough so it won’t pop-out but so they’re still visible.
Let soap cool and harden.
Use cookie cutters to press out shapes.
Place a few in a soap dish for guests to use, use as party favors or wrap for gifts.
